1e:T434,Abstract Highly conductive poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) films as stand‐alone electrodes for organic solar cells have been optimized using a solvent post‐treatment method. The treated PEDOT:PSS films show enhanced conductivities up to 1418 S cm −1 , accompanied by structural and chemical changes. The effect of the solvent treatment on PEDOT:PSS has been investigated in detail and is shown to cause a reduction of insulating PSS in the conductive polymer layer. Using these optimized electrodes, ITO‐free, small molecule organic solar cells with a zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc):fullerene C 60 bulk heterojunction have been produced on glass and PET substrates. The system was further improved by pre‐heating the PEDOT:PSS electrodes, which enhanced the power conversion efficiency to the values obtained for solar cells on ITO electrodes. The results show that optimized PEDOT:PSS with solvent and thermal post‐treatment can be a very promising electrode material for highly efficient flexible ITO‐free organic solar cells.1f:T4f8,A sweat-based flexible supercapacitor (SC) for self-powered smart textiles and wearable systems is presented. The developed SC uses sweat as the electrolyte and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) as the active electrode. With PEDOT:PSS coated onto cellulose/polyester cloth, the SC shows specific capacitance of 8.94 F g^-1 (10 mF cm^-2 ) at 1 mV s^-1 . With artificial sweat, the energy and power densities of the SC are 1.36 Wh kg^-1 and 329.70 W kg^-1 , respectively for 1.31 V and its specific capacitance is 5.65 F g^-1 . With real human sweat the observed energy and power densities are 0.25 Wh kg^-1 , and 30.62 W kg^-1 , respectively. The SC performance is evaluated with different volumes of sweat (20, 50, and 100 µL), bending radii (10, 15, 20 mm), charging/discharging stability (4000 cycles), and washability. With successful on-body testing, the first demonstration of the suitability of a sweat-based SC for self-powered cloth-based sensors to monitor sweat salinity is presented. With attractive performance and the use of body fluids, the presented approach is a safe and sustainable route to meet the power requirements in wearable systems.20:T4d5,Electrochemically prepared poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDT) poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS), produced from acidic (PSSH) and basic (PSSNa) PSS, was characterized by cyclic voltammetry CV, UV−vis spectroscopy, in situ conductivity, and XPS spectroscopy and was compared with electrochemically prepared PEDT/tosylate and chemically prepared PEDT/PSS. CV analysis shows that the polymer synthesis is strongly affected by the nucleophilic character of the counteranion. Although CV and UV−vis spectroscopy show that the structure and degree of polymerization (oligomeric, ca. 10 EDT units) of the PEDT backbone is the same for all polymers, XPS is able to explain the different conductivity values for these materials (ranging from 1 S cm-1 for PEDT/PSSNa to 400−450 S cm-1 for PEDT/tosylate) based on doping level and composition. In particular, critical results are observed to be the ratios between sulfonate and thiophene units in the polymers: the higher the PEDT concentration, the higher the conductivity. XPS also explains by solvent-induced nanometer-scale segregation between PEDT/PSS and excess PSS particles the often reported conductivity enhancement of chemically prepared PEDT/PSS upon treatment with polar solvents.21:T612,
