Abstract

It would be unfortunate if this were regarded as just another book about differential equations, for in it the author has made a noteworthy and interesting effort to remove the veil of mystery which all too often surrounds this subject. He is at great pains to explain to the reader the underlying significance of a differential equation and what we are really doing when we carry out the process of solution.
