Amorphous polymetallic oxides containing MoSx and SO42− are proposed to enhance OER performance due to the acceleration of the *OH → *O + *H by MoSx, optimization of *OOH deprotonation by sulfate, polymetallic interaction and abundant oxygen vacancies.
