IoT based Face Recognition for Smart Applications using Machine Learning

Abstract

In today's world, securing home and things is very difficult and also so many mishaps are possible if not protected properly. IOT (Internet of Things) being a fast growing technology is often used alongside face recognition to form our task of providing smart home system easier, simpler and foolproof. Machine Learning, a subset of Artificial Intelligence is an emerging field that can very well help in Facial Recognition which further could be used to either explore new fields or even increase the efficiency of already present fields. It is very hard to remember the faces for human but computer doesn't have any difficulties, and may be used where more number of images ought to store in databases of facial records are needed. Face recognition system is a new technology using the artificial intelligence technique to provide better solution for the above problems. The same type of applications is deployed in airport surveillance, private security etc. This project is aimed to be a create a smart system for the home and taking attendance in offline as well as in online an also identify the criminals based on the image recognition algorithm. As it is already knowing that pandemic has leveraged unprecedented changes to human lives, occupations and services are shifting their phase from offline to online, digitization is growing to sectors like Education, Home Automation & Security at a very high rate. This could be the realization and also the opportunity for many new upcoming areas of interest.
