A bi-activated g-C<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub> were prepared by transforming surface amino groups to diazanyl groups and <italic>in situ</italic> deposing SnO<sub>2</sub> for enhanced photocatalytic CO<sub>2</sub> reduction by promoting CO<sub>2</sub> capture and separation of photo-generated carriers.
