Abstract. We prove that for any prime ` and any even integer n, there are infinitely many exponents k for which PSpn(F`k) appears as a Galois group overQ. This generalizes a result of Wiese [Wiese], which inspired this paper. MSC numbers: 11F, 11R 1.
