1e:T450,Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have attracted growing interest by virtue of their structural diversity and tunability. Herein, we present a novel approach for the development of organic rechargeable battery cathodes in which three distinct redox-active COFs were successfully prepared and delaminated into 2D few-layer nanosheets. Compared with the pristine COFs, the exfoliated COFs with shorter Li⁺ diffusion pathways allow a significant higher utilization efficiency of redox sites and faster kinetics for lithium storage. Unlike diffusion-controlled manners in the bulk COFs, the redox reactions in ECOFs are mainly dominated by charge transfer process. The capacity and potential are further engineered by reticular design of COFs without altering the underlying topology. Specifically, DAAQ-ECOF exhibits excellent rechargeability (98% capacity retention after 1800 cycles) and fast charge-discharge ability (74% retention at 500 mA g^-1 as compared to at 20 mA g^-1). DABQ-ECOF shows a specific capacity of 210 mA h g^-1 and a voltage plateau of 2.8 V.1f:T424,Despite the significant advancement in preparing metal oxide hollow structures, most approaches rely on template-based multistep procedures for tailoring the interior structure. In this work, we develop a new generally applicable strategy toward the synthesis of mixed-metal-oxide complex hollow spheres. Starting with metal glycerate solid spheres, we show that subsequent thermal annealing in air leads to the formation of complex hollow spheres of the resulting metal oxide. We demonstrate the concept by synthesizing highly uniform NiCo2O4 hollow spheres with a complex interior structure. With the small primary building nanoparticles, high structural integrity, complex interior architectures, and enlarged surface area, these unique NiCo2O4 hollow spheres exhibit superior electrochemical performances as advanced electrode materials for both lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. This approach can be an efficient self-templated strategy for the preparation of mixed-metal-oxide hollow spheres with complex interior structures and functionalities.20:T405,Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been proposed as alternative candidates for molecular sieving membranes due to their chemical stability. However, developing COF membranes with narrowed apertures close to the size of common gas molecules is a crucial task for selective gas separation. Herein, we demonstrate a new type of a two-dimensional layered-stacking COF-COF composite membrane in bilayer geometry synthesized on a porous support by successively regulating the growth of imine-based COF-LZU1 and azine-based ACOF-1 layers via a temperature-swing solvothermal approach. The resultant COF-LZU1-ACOF-1 bilayer membrane has much higher separation selectivity for H₂/CO₂, H₂/N₂, and H₂/CH₄ gas mixtures than the individual COF-LZU1 and ACOF-1 membranes due to the formation of interlaced pore networks, and the overall performance surpasses the Robeson upper bounds. The COF-LZU1-ACOF-1 bilayer membrane also shows high thermal and long-time stabilities.
