Biodegradable Temporizing Matrix (BTM) is a synthetic device used to facilitate the growth of neodermis prior to definitive wound closure. BTM is useful in management of full thickness burns, degloving injuries, and necrotizing skin and soft tissue infections. In this case, we present a 9-year-old male with significant skin and soft tissue injuries following a substantial trauma, that underwent a two-stage repair of the injuries. First the patient was treated with the application of BTM to restore a healthy neodermis. Second the patient underwent closure of the wound with split skin graft.
