A new lead-free antiferroelectric ceramic NBT–SBT was introduced into PVDF polymer to fabricate composites films, achieving record-high energy density of 15.3 J cm<sup>−3</sup> at 500 MV m<sup>−1</sup> and meeting the requirement of miniaturization and lightweight device.
