We designed a series of transition metal-modified molybdenum carbides in nitrogen doped carbon matrix for investigating and boosting the performance of Mo<sub>2</sub>C-based electrocatalysts in all-pH media by increasing the Mo<sup>2+</sup> content in catalysts.
