A K<sup>+</sup>/vacancy disordered structure has been obtained by simply modulating the K<sup>+</sup> contents in a series of K<sub>x</sub>Mn<sub>0.7</sub>Ni<sub>0.3</sub>O<sub>2</sub> layered oxides, which exhibits outstanding rate performance.
