No comprehensive, child‑oriented infectious disease reference existed for pediatricians until now, and respected pediatricians Feigin and Cherry curated the authors. The two‑volume textbook comprises 44 chapters by 124 contributors from 43 universities across eight countries, organized into seven parts that cover organ‑specific and organism‑specific infections over 1,223 pages. After 23 years of development, the textbook is now available, offering a comprehensive yet readable reference for pediatric infectious disease. Four.
Although there are dozens of books on various aspects of infectious diseases and medical microbiology, in my opinion, there has never been a publication that is both child oriented and sufficiently comprehensive to meet virtually all of the needs of the pediatrician. After 23 years of waiting, I do believe that my "pediatric infectious disease bible" is now in hand(s). It is not only comprehensive; it is readable, which is a rare combination in a book as ambitious in scope as this one. The two-volumeTextbook of Pediatric Infectious Diseasesis composed of 44 chapters written by 124 worthy contibutors from 43 universities in eight countries. Drs Feigin and Cherry, well-respected pediatricians in this field, have chosen their authors with care. The work is divided into seven parts consisting of two large sections that deal with infections in specific organs (590 pages) and infections with specific organisms (633 pages). Four
