Abstract

In this report carbon nano-particles composites with polylactic acid polymer material were fabricated which finds interesting applications in various industrial devices. 3D fused deposition technique has been used for the preparation of polylactic acid (PLA)/ carbon nanocomposite coupons. The analysis of hardness and impact testing proved that the carbon nano-particles having significant effect on the improvement of polyester material properties. The improvement in the material properties was resulted because of significant improvement in the morphous phase of PLA with carbon particles addition. The process parameters involved with the PLA carbon composite preparation such as layer thickness, fill density and speed was optimized using Taquchi technique. The optimal parameter was identified and recommended for further processing.
