Rabi oscillations and Ramsey-type pulses in ultracold bosons: Role of interactions

Abstract

Two realizations of a two-state model in a rubidium Bose-Einstein condensate are explored through Raman coupling of hyperfine states and lattice coupling in momentum space in a joint experimental and theoretical study. The difference in the two realizations is highlighted by a particularly important role of interactions in the lattice coupling case.
