Introduction 2 A multi-channel multi-component fiber optic seismic sensing system has been designed and qualified for in-well applications. As part of a Norwegian Demo 2000 sponsored project supported by a consortium of oil companies an advanced prototype system was installed in a monitor well in the Izaute gas storage field in southwestern France. A six-station three-component (3-C) array was deployed on production tubing (fig. 1). Five 3-C stations were deployed above the reservoir for walkaway VSP imaging.
