A method to create high-resolution heterogeneous digital brain phantoms for different PET radiotracers has been presented and successfully employed to create a new publicly available [ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow><mml:msup><mml:mrow></mml:mrow> <mml:mn>18</mml:mn></mml:msup> <mml:mi>F</mml:mi></mml:mrow> </mml:math> ]FDG phantom. The generated phantom is of high resolution, is heterogeneous, and simulates the uptake of the radiotracer in the different regions of the brain.
