Abstract

The ErbB/HER family of receptor tyrosine kinases consists of four cell surface glycoproteins: epidermal growth factor 1 (EGFR or ErbB1), ErbB2 (c-Neu or human EGF receptor 2 [HER2]), ErbB3, and ErbB4 [1, Binding of the soluble ligand to its cognate ErbB receptor induces formation of homo-or heterodimer complexes, which activates receptor tyrosine kinase activity, leading to increased downstream RAS/MAPK, PI3K/AKT, and JAK/STAT signaling
