Abstract

The reviewer's job of conveying to prospective readers the flavour of this book has really been done already in the Preface to the book, written by Dr. M. F. Perutz. As Dr. Perutz nicely puts it, "... like Dante the author descends from the heaven of perfect crystalline order through the purgatory of random displacements to the hell of utter chaos."
