Helicobacter pylori seroprevalence among first-generation migrants is high in the Netherlands and remains elevated among second-generation migrants (ie, those born in the Netherlands). High exposure to H. pylori, and especially to the more virulent cagA+ strain, highlights the need for tailored prevention of gastric diseases (notably peptic ulcers and cancers) among migrants.
