The Solubility of Water in Liquid CaO-SiO<sub>2</sub>-MgO with and without “FeO” at 1550℃

Abstract

The solubility oj water ill liquid silicates equilibrated with a [il'ell !Jartia! /Hessure oj IVa tel' va/Jour ill an argon stream was determined by a mudified vacuumfzlsioll method. The elfect of the addition oj l'vlgO to th e CaO -Si0 2 system and that of temperature on the solubility q[ water were studied. The same type of the study was extended to the CaO-SiO,-M gO -" FeO " system at 1 5S0C and the CaO-SiO,-" FeO " system at 1 350' C.
