Abstract

Successive two annealing stages corres/lollding to the allnihilaiion of disLocations in difomzed Low carbon steeLs were found from eLectricaL resistivity measurements. For exampLe, on 5 min l2U C isochronaL anneaLing of a 0.03 % carbon steeL stretched by 20o ~ at -75C, Ihe Iwo stages were centered around 600 0 and 680C. T ize former stage was associated witlz tlze forma tion of sub-boundaries, and tlze Latter with the reClystaLLi::;ation. T he fac t was confirmed by tlze measurement of yield stress and aLso by transmission eLectron microscojJY. T he simiLar stages were aLso seen for high /Jllrity iron, but the centraL temperatures of the stages were Lower than those in carbon steels.
