21:T430,Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are crystalline, highly porous, two- or three-dimensional polymers with tunable topology and functionalities. Because of their higher chemical stabilities in comparison to their boron-linked counterparts, imine or β-ketoenamine linked COFs have been utilized for a broad range of applications, including gas storage, heterogeneous catalysis, energy storage devices, or proton-conductive membranes. Herein, we report the synthesis of highly porous and chemically stable acetylene (-C≡C-) and diacetylene (-C≡C-C≡C-) functionalized β-ketoenamine COFs, which have been applied as photocatalyst for hydrogen generation from water. It is shown that the diacetylene moieties have a profound effect as the diacetylene-based COF largely outperforms the acetylene-based COF in terms of photocatalytic activity. As a combined effect of high porosity, easily accessible diacetylene (-C≡C-C≡C-) functionalities and considerable chemical stability, an efficient and recyclable heterogeneous photocatalytic hydrogen generation is achieved.22:T43a,The construction of stable covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for various applications is highly desirable. Herein, we report the synthesis of a novel two-dimensional (2D) porphyrin-based sp² carbon-conjugated COF (Por-sp² c-COF), which adopts an eclipsed AA stacking structure with a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 689 m² g^-1 . Owing to the C=C linkages, Por-sp² c-COF shows a high chemical stability under various conditions, even under harsh conditions such as 9 m HCl and 9 m NaOH solutions. Interestingly, Por-sp² c-COF can be used as a metal-free heterogeneous photocatalyst for the visible-light-induced aerobic oxidation of amines to imines. More importantly, in comparison to imine-linked Por-COF, the inherent structure of Por-sp² c-COF equips it with several advantages as a photocatalyst, including reusability and high photocatalytic performance. Herein, a thioether-containing COF has been rationally designed and used for the confined growth of ultrafine metal nanoparticles (NPs). Pt or Pd nanoparticles (Pt NPs and Pd NPs) immobilized inside the cavity of the COF material have been successfully prepared at a high loading with a narrow size distribution (1.7 ± 0.2 nm). We found the crystallinity of the COF support and the presence of thioether groups inside the cavities are critical for the size-controlled synthesis of ultrafine NPs. The as-prepared COF-supported ultrafine Pt NPs and Pd NPs show excellent catalytic activity respectively in nitrophenol reduction and Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction under mild conditions and low catalyst loading. More importantly, they are highly stable and easily recycled and reused without loss of their catalytic activities. Such COF-supported size-controlled synthesis of nanoparticles will open a new frontier on design and preparation of metal NP@COF composite materials for various potential applications, such as catalysis and development of optical and electronic materials.24:T585,
