Design and Optimization of Grid Integrated Solar Energy System Using HOMER GRID software

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to design the on grid renewable energy sources to meet the load demand in the particular location in Vijayawada by using HOMER GRID software. The solar is the one of the renewable energy source which is used in this system. By using solar type renewable source the cost of the system can be reduced and it is environmental friendly. From this renewable energy source it can also reduce the cost of energy (COE). To get the optimized value there is optimization process in the homer grid software. In this there are two control strategies load following and cycle charging. The solar type renewable energy source is connected to the utility grid so it is called the on grid system. Then the system will be more profitable due to the on grid process. The simulation results illustrates that the suggested model made the lowest energy cost and less losses.
