Abstract

Design of triangular patch antenna is presented for application in Intelligent Transport System(5855-5925 MHz) which has center frequency of 5.9 GHz. In this paper, patch antenna is excited with rectangular feedline which provides good impedance matching. The proposed antenna attains a bandwidth from 5.71 GHz to 5.94 GHz covering 5.9 GHz, ITS Mobile Service band with a good return loss of -34.7917dB. The results include parametric studies by addition of circular patches and circular notches. Gain enhancement is done by placing C-shaped resonators on both sides of the feedline. The present antenna offers a gain of 6.6 dBi at 5.83 GHz resonant frequency.
