Abstract

In this experiment efferent stimulation of abdominal vagal nerve release neuromediators from afferent and efferent fibers. The main regulator seems to be nitric oxide. These results indicate the effective vagal nerve stimulation affects gastric motility and emptying. It is likely that observed effects reflect integrated response with activating vago-vagal reflexes and neurohumoral factors.
