For the first time, a single branch dual band rectifier towards millimeter-wave frequencies at 28 GHz and 38 GHz for future 5G communication has been presented. Voltage doubler configuration and Schottky barrier diode MA4E1317 has been used for rectification. The rectifier has been simulated on Agilent ADS and fabricated on 250 um thick Rogers 5880 substrate. Maximum output efficiencies of 46% and 42% has been obtained at 28 GHz and 38 GHz, respectively at input power level of 31.6 mW (15 dBm) and are comparable to the efficiencies reported in literature for millimeter wave rectifiers operating at low input power levels. The proposed circuit produces DC output at 28 GHz and 38 GHz simultaneously and will find applications in the millimeter wave circuits for energy harvesting applications and wireless power transmission.
