In this report, the use of photography is explored within the context of a qualitative investigation of the role of memorial tattoos in grief. The implementation of photography, in addition to interviewing, and the ways in which it strengthened and brought unique benefits throughout the research process are demonstrated. Through the reflection on the use of photography in this study, the advantages of the integration of this particular visual method are determined to be relevant and transferable to other projects, offering the potential to enrich and expand qualitative psychological research.
