In order to solve the problem of short wireless communication distance and high power consumption in manhole cover monitoring, LoRa communication technology with long distance and low power consumption is introduced to transmit monitoring data in manhole cover monitoring. The application architecture of LoRa in intelligent manhole cover monitoring system is studied. On the basis of theoretical analysis, the wireless communication performance of LoRa technology is tested and verified. The actual test shows that the communication distance of LoRa can reach 700 meters, and the battery life by using LoRa can reach more than 3 years. LoRa achieves the goal of low power consumption and long distance in manhole cover monitoring, provides an effective solution for safety management of urban road manhole cover, and also provides new ideas and development direction for interconnection of more Internet of Things terminals with similar conditions.
