Taken together, our findings suggest that early initiation of HAART can reduce the immune reconstitution failure. The combination of baseline CD4<sup>+</sup> cell count and baseline CD4/CD8 ratio may serve as a valid predictor of immune reconstitution prognosis after HAART.
