Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is one of the type of wireless communication technologies which is used as an underlying network architecture for different types of sensors to mitigate different medical and non-medical aspects. It is applicable for various domains such as healthcare, sports, and military and defense. The sensors are used to collect information related to their health condition by efficiently using the WBAN architecture. For the standardization of WBAN, a task group has been established namely IEEE 802.15.6. Next generation smart healthcare system is introduced initially by WBAN that creates a new paradigm in the healthcare system. In this research work, authors have presented a state-of-art survey about various features of BAN specifically communications, sensors, applications, requirements, standards & protocol, and security aspects.
