Abstract

In article number 1900401, Kai Zhang, Huiling Duan, and co-workers create a 3D digital metamaterial for elastic waves. The metamaterial contains three tunable modes, which are digitalized by a unique 2-bit coding principle according to their wave propagation characteristics. Switching digital modes, polarized elastic waves can be filtered out along specific paths from hybrid waves, realizing a “polarizer-like” functionality.
