A dynamic hydrogen-bonded organic framework, HOF-12, has been synthesized from 1,3,5-tris(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,4,6-trismethylbenzene and crystallographically characterized. Through single-crystal X-ray diffraction determination, the hydrogen-bonded supramolecular architecture with a pore size of 8.6 × 10.8 Å2 has been identified, which consists of six interpenetrated carboxyl-linked 6,3-topological networks. The powder X-ray diffraction analysis and the giant hysteresis sorption of carbon dioxide at 196 K demonstrate the obvious contraction of the degassed hydrogen-bonded framework, exhibiting a high CO2 uptake of 328 cm g–1 at 1.0 atm.
