In recent years, the large-scale construction of infrastructure has promoted the development and utilization of passive wireless sensors in the field of structural health monitoring for permanent installation and online real-time health detection. This paper uses a circular RFID patch antenna sensor with a rectangular window for quantitatively Monitoring Surface crack growth. Simulation results show that the resonant frequency shift of the RFID Antenna Sensor is a useful feature to indicate the crack orientation and the crack characterization on a metallic surface structure.
