Abstract

In this paper we continue our algebraic approach to the study of locally analytic representations of a <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> p p </inline-formula>-adic Lie group <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> G G </inline-formula> in vector spaces over a non-Archimedean complete field <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> K K </inline-formula>. We characterize the smooth representations of Langlands theory which are contained in the new category. More generally, we completely determine the structure of the representations on which the universal enveloping algebra <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> U ( g ) U(\mathfrak g) </inline-formula> of the Lie algebra <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> g \mathfrak g </inline-formula> of <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> G G </inline-formula> acts through a finite dimensional quotient.
