Microwave irradiation-assisted synthesis using hydroxides was fairly effective in preparing a lithiated transition metal oxide within a short time. With the help of homogeneous hydroxide, one-step single-phase formation was possible and, as a result, the well-developed highly crystalline oxide was readily formed by means of microwave irradiation. Because of the high crystallinity, the product also showed good electrochemical properties.
