Abstract

Abstract α,β-Unsaturated esters and amides were rapidly and selectively reduced to the corresponding saturated ones under mild conditions without affecting coexisting isolated double or triple bonds by using the reduction system, SmI2-N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA)-proton source.
