Treating Posttransplant Anemia With Erythropoietin Improves Quality of Life but Does Not Affect Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease

Treatment of anemia in kidney transplant recipients to a hemoglobin level of 11.5 to 13.5 g/dL with erythropoietin improves some quality of life scores. The treatment was safe and not associated with adverse outcomes. There were no changes in rate of decline of graft function.
