Molecular-Spintronics: The Art of Driving Spin Through Molecules

Abstract

Quasicrystals are intrinsically quasiperiodic alloys in which local atomic changes prominently influence the gross mechanical behavior. The coupling between macroscopic deformation and events at atomic scale (phason activity) seems to have stochastic nature. We propose an appropriate way to model it and anticipate the existence of clustering and self-organization of gross deformation and substructural changes by using Monte Carlo and finite element techniques.
