Generation of <i>α</i>-Alkylthio Radicals by Photoinduced One-Electron Oxidation of <i>α</i>-Stannyl Sulfides and Their Use for Carbon-Carbon Bond Formation

Abstract

Abstract Cation radicals, generated from α-stannyl sulfides by the photoinduced single electron transfer, cleave into α-alkylthio radical intermediates with the elimination of the stannyl group. The α-alkylthio radicals thus formed are utilized for carbon-carbon bond forming reactions.
