Synthesis of Compounds with the Novel 2,3,7-Triazaphenalene Ring System

Abstract

The title compounds ( l a ) and (lc-f) were prepared from the new 5-0x0-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinolines (2a) and (2c,d), which were synthesized from cyclohexane-l,3-dione.In the course of the synthesis .ofsome 5-0x0-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinolines (2) we became interested in their annulation to the 2,3.7-triazaphenalene ring system (cf. 1) as a potential new pharmacophore.
