Methods for the formation of C-C bonds in heterocycles which occur via Ni- and Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling, alkenylation and alkynylation reactions are summarized. The influence of the organometallic-component and the nature of the catalyst on the efficiency of cross-coupling reactions are analyzed, and the scope of the reaction is established. 1.
