Abstract A successive N → C 2 → C 3 migration of the dichlorophosphino group has been found to occur in phosphorylation of unsubstituted pyrrole with phosphorus trichloride. As a result of this migration, a number of hitherto unknown C‐phosphorylated N‐unsubstituted pyrroles have been obtained. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
