Abstract The solventless microwave‐assisted synthesis of 2,4,5‐triaryl imidazoles from 1,2‐diphenylethandione or 2‐hydroxy‐1,2‐diphenylethanone in the presence of NH 4 OAc/NaHSO 4 supported onto silica gel under microwave irradiation is reported. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
