A series of cobalt–lanthanide metallacrowns (MCs) {CoIII4Ln<sub>8</sub>} (Ln = Dy<sup>3+</sup><bold>1</bold>, Ho<sup>3+</sup><bold>2</bold> and Tm<sup>3+</sup><bold>3</bold>) based on pyrazinehydroxamic acid (H<sub>2</sub>pyzha) and pyrazinic acid (Hpyzic) ligands have been synthesized.
