Abstract Novel benzene fused cyclic polysulfides, 4,7-disubstituted benzotrithioles, are synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis, and their one-electron oxidation resulted in the formation of stable 4,7-disubstituted benzotrithiolium radical cations with an 11π electron framework.
