A short-step total synthesis of a cyclopropane-containing eicosanoid 1 is described. The key step was an efficient stereoselective synthesis of trans-disubstituted cyclopropane 6 via the cyclization-ozonolysis sequence. The overall yield of the seven-step synthesis was 24% from known ester 2.
