Alkylation of Some Pyrimidine and Purine Derivatives Using Microwave-assisted Methods

Abstract

N-Alkylation of adenine (1), guanine (2) and 6-amino-2-thiouracil (3) with different halides has been carried out using microwave-assisted methods in the presence of small amounts of DM F to improve energy transfer and in the case of 3 by coupling with phase transfer catalysis.The results obtained show high yields and selectivities.
