Young age and tobacco use are predictors of lower medication adherence in inflammatory bowel disease

Only half of patients were high medication adherers. Young age, active smoking, and Crohn's disease seems to be predictors of low medication adherence. On the basis of these data, efforts for reinforce medication adherence should be especially directed to young patients and smokers.
