<i>P. multocida</i> is the most predominant microorganism isolated from apparently healthy and diseased ducks followed by <i>E. coli</i> and <i>Staphylococci</i>. The combination of both phenotypic and genotypic characterization is more reliable an epidemiological tool for identification of bacterial pathogens affecting ducks.
