Abstract

Aldosterone induces trained immunity in vitro, which is dependent on epigenetically mediated up-regulation of fatty acid synthesis. These data provide mechanistic insight into the contribution of aldosterone to inflammation, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease.
